Common questions

Do I need to pay for AI to use this?

No. All three AI features degrade gracefully with no key configured - the platform is fully functional without AI, and each feature just silently doesn't activate. If you do want them, we can connect your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Groq API key for you.

Does LaunchCrowdFund take a cut of what I raise?

No recurring platform fee to us. You set your own platform fee percentage for your creators from the admin panel - that revenue is yours.

Can I embed a campaign on my own marketing site?

Yes - the widget is a single iframe line with a live, working pledge card, covered above.

What happens if a campaign doesn't hit its goal?

For All-or-Nothing campaigns, every pledge is automatically released or refunded at the deadline - the backer is emailed and notified in-app, with zero admin action required.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. We handle the installation, configuration and launch. Day to day, you manage campaigns, users and settings from the admin panel, with no code involved.

Can I use a payment gateway other than Stripe?

Stripe Connect is built in and ready on day one. Other gateways are added as a custom integration, included once in the Bespoke package. Every gateway handles marketplace payouts differently, so we confirm yours supports the model before we scope the work.

How long does it take to launch?

We aim to have your platform live within 10 business days of kickoff, or your launch fee is refunded. Kickoff is when we have your domain, hosting access and logo, and the clock pauses while we wait on details from you or on Stripe's review.

What hosting do I need?

With Launch, ordinary PHP 8.4+ hosting - we tell you what to buy and set it up. With Launch + Managed we provide the hosting, so there is nothing to buy.

Is this multi-language?

The locale-switching infrastructure exists in the codebase, but only English ships seeded and translated today. We're not going to market it as a multi-language platform until more languages are actually available.
